Marvel Entertainment, LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company, is one of the world's most prominent character-based entertainment companies. It publishes Marvel comic books and produces television shows and movies based on its comic book characters such as Iron Man (2008), The Incredible Hulk (2008), Iron Man 2 (2010), Thor (2011), Captain America (2011) and next year’s upcoming Marvel’s The Avengers (2012).
Marvel is looking for a law firm associate with less than three years experience or a recent law school graduate to work as an Assistant Counsel-Entertainment in Marvel’s New York Headquarters. Outstanding academic credentials, an entrepreneurial spirit, and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collegial, in-house environment are required. All candidates should also understand that initial compensation will not be in the range provided by large law firms and will instead reflect the opportunity to pursue immediately a unique in-house career in the entertainment field.
Responsiblities:
The Assistant Counsel-Entertainment position will be given a high level of responsibility on various entertainment and licensing transactions and will have the opportunity both to work alongside and learn from more senior attorneys on larger transactions and to run relatively smaller transactions. Areas of responsibility will include working on the production of major theatrical motion pictures, production of animated television shows and agreements with licensing and promotional partners.
