Judicial & Political Appointments

Facilitates the appointment of qualified Asian Pacific American candidates to the judiciary and to other appointive positions in state and federal government.

Scholarship

Conducts application process for 3 annual scholarships to law students from Rutgers Newark, Rutgers Camden and Seton Hall Law Schools. Recommends scholarship recipients to the Executive Board for approval.

Conducts annual Executive Board elections.

Membership

Develops programs to strengthen, build, and maintain APALA/NJ's membership via outreach and other activities.

Annual Dinner

Coordinates venue, program and all related details for the APALA/NJ Annual Dinner and Installation of Officers.

Golf

Coordinates venue, program and all related details for the APALA/NJ Annual Charity Golf Outing.

Professional Development

Supports the entrance and advancement of Asian Americans into and within the legal profession.

Social Networking
Chairs: Eunice Chae, Roger Lai and *Eric Wong (apalasec@gmail.com)

This Committee is tasked with the responsibility to develop and organize events that are of a networking or social nature, whether for APALA/NJ members or in conjunction with the broader legal, business and/or APA communities in New Jersey. These events will include formal, long-standing events such as our Lunar Banquet, as well as more informal, regional happy-hour type events.

PR/Marketing
Chairs: Jhanice Domingo and *Eric Wong (apalasec@gmail.com)

Promotes effective communication of APALA/NJ's news, events and service offerings to the membership through a variety of delivery vehicles. Provides APALA/NJ's interface to community groups, bar associations, media and government to facilitate APALA/NJ's goals.

Appointments

Identifies qualified candidates to serve as APALA/NJ representatives to fill appointments, such as appointments to Supreme Court Committees and other bar association activities.

Advisory Board

Comprised of former APALA/NJ Presidents, this Committee provides advise and counsel to the Executive Board on numerous administrative and policy issues.

*These board members shall serve as co-chairs and liaisons of the committee to the Executive Board.
