Sapana S. Shah, President

Sapana Shah is an attorney with a solo practice in Jersey City, New Jersey. She handles personal injury, employment, municipal, and matrimonial matters. In addition to her practice she serves as a court mediator, qualified pursuant to New Jersey Court Rule 1:40 and an arbitrator for UIM/UM matters.

Ms. Shah received her law degree from Albany Law School- Union University. Upon graduation from law school she served as a New Jersey Superior Court law clerk to the Honorable Jessica R. Mayer, J.S.C., in Middlesex County. Upon completion of her clerkship, she began practicing as a commercial litigator. In this capacity, she handled Creditor Rights claims, including but not limited to Insurance Premium Fraud, Consumer Fraud, Premium Collection, and Officer & Director Liability. Thereafter, she joined the Staff Counsel office of American International Group, Inc. (AIG) as an Associate Trial Attorney. At AIG, she focused on claims arising from automobile accidents including: negligence claims, underinsured and uninsured motorist claims (UM/UIM), personal injury protections (PIP) claims, property damage claims, insurance coverage disputes, and inter-company subrogation claims in arbitration.

On her spare time, Ms. Shah serves on the New Jersey Supreme Court Committee on Women in the Courts, Arbitration Advisory Committee, and as a Barrister for the Joseph Halpern Inn of Court in Somerset, New Jersey. Ms. Shah is committed to public service. Since 2009, she has been a County Committeewoman for District 64 in Edison, New Jersey. In April of 2011, she was elected to the Board of Education in Edison, New Jersey. She graduated from Rutgers College, Rutgers University with a degree in Economics. Prior to obtaining her law degree, Ms. Shah worked at Dun & Bradstreet Corporation as a Financial Analyst.

Paul Yoon, President-Elect

Mr. Yoon is an Assistant Prosecutor in the Essex County Prosecutor's Office where he prosecutes crimes against the State of New Jersey. Prior to joining the Essex County Prosecutor's Office, Mr. Yoon clerked for the Honorable Joseph P. Donohue in Union County and served as Special Assistant to the Honorable Mayor Anthony A. Williams in our nation's capital. Mr. Yoon received his J.D. from New York Law School in 2006 and his B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1996.

Mr. Yoon's commitment to public service began when he received the Woodrow Wilson Fellowship, a program aimed to advance people of color into the public policy arena. He is very active in the Asian American community. Most recently, he was elected to serve as Treasurer of the Asian Pacific American Lawyers Association of New Jersey and currently serves as Co-Chair of the organization's Judicial and Political Appointments Committee. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Korean American League for Civic Action.

Moly K. Hung, Vice-President

Moly K. Hung is an attorney with a sole practice that concentrates in the areas of Real Estate and Business related matters along with consulting on issues of a governmental and/or political nature.  He received his B.A. in Political Science from Rutgers College and his J.D. from the University of Colorado School of Law.  Before returning to his home state of New Jersey, he served as a Deputy Corporation Counsel with the City and County of Honolulu, initially in the Counseling and Drafting Division and then subsequently in the Trials Division.  Mr. Hung also served as a former Civil Division Law Clerk with the Circuit Court of the First Circuit for the State of Hawaii prior to his political appointment as a Deputy Corporation Counsel.

An active participant of the Asian Pacific American community, Mr. Hung is long standing fifteen (15) year member of the Asian Pacific American Lawyers Association of New Jersey and currently sits on the Judicial and Prosecutorial Appointments Committee of the organization.  A past editorial board member from 1999 to 2005 of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association newsletter, the NAPABA LAWYER, he has also served in two full NAPABA national convention year terms from 1999 through 2000 as a former Co-Chair on the NAPABA Solo and Small Firm Practice Committee with Alexander M. Lee, Esq.  In 2007, Mr. Hung served and led with Edward S. Kiel, Esq. as Co-Chairmen of the NAPABA Northeast Regional Conference that was held in Atlantic City, New Jersey. 

Mr. Hung has served as a commissioner of the New Jersey Asian American Commission from 2002 to 2004 as appointed under former Governor James E. McGreevey.  In 2008, then Governor Jon S. Corzine appointed him as a member of the Board of Directors of the Asian American Study Foundation. 

Of specific chapter affiliate note, Mr. Hung has assisted in establishing and serving in the last six (6) consecutive years as a committee member (2009) and or Co-Chair (2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, & 2011) of the always well attended and received APALANJ Golf Classic & Dinner.  He is currently serving as a fellow Tri-Chair with Eugene Huang, Esq. and Edward S. Kiel, Esq. as to this year’s upcoming 6th Annual APALANJ Golf Classic & Dinner scheduled for Monday, October 3, 2011.

Since September 2010, Mr. Hung has been the webtv host of a show that features guests in and from the Asian Pacific American communities and or other otherwise who are leaders in politics, business, civics, entertainment and or the arts.  The webtv show, “Leaders in Focus,” with Moly Hung, can be viewed any time at www.ICEPN.TV.

Jhanice Domingo, Treasurer

Ms. Domingo was admitted to the New Jersey Bar in 2002, and the U.S. District Court, District of New Jersey in 2003. She received her J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law, Newark, NJ in 2002, and her B.A. from Boston College, Chestnut Hill, MA, in 1999, where she received Dean’s List honors and majored in Psychology with a minor in Women’s Studies. 

Ms. Domingo began her legal career in 2002 as Law Clerk for the Honorable Joseph P. Donohue, J.S.C., Chancery Division, Family Part, Union County, and then gained experience as an Assistant Prosecutor in the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office until 2003.  Ms. Domingo continues to reside in Somerset, NJ, and currently works for Einhorn, Harris, Ascher, Barbarito & Frost, P.C. in Denville, NJ.  As a member of the firm’s Matrimonial practice group, Ms. Domingo handles a wide variety of family law cases that encompass many diverse issues including divorce, child custody, alimony and child support, equitable distribution, palimony, prenuptial agreements, post-nuptial agreements, civil unions, etc.  As a former prosecutor and trained litigator, Ms. Domingo has extensive courtroom experience and handles various juvenile and domestic violence matters in addition to divorce cases.  Ms. Domingo has been recognized by New Jersey Super Lawyers for her work in family law and was named a Rising Star in 2009 and 2010.

Since law school, Ms. Domingo has been committed to serving the Asian & Pacific American Bar community as evidenced by her service as President of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association during her 3L year, and her service to the Asian Pacific American Lawyers Association of New Jersey in various capacities.  In 2006-2007, she served as the co-chairperson of APALA NJ's Membership Committee.  In 2010-2011, she served as the co-chairperson of APALA NJ's Public Relations Committee and as the Corporate Secretary of APALA NJ's Golf Committee.  Ms. Domingo’s dedication and past leadership has led to her election as Treasurer of the APALA NJ 2011-2012 Executive Board.

Florelee R. Wan, Secretary

Florelee Wan is an Associate at Wong Fleming in Princeton, New Jersey. Ms. Wan focuses on commercial litigation, concentrating her practice in insurance defense, products liability and employment law. She is a talented litigator and trial attorney, having worked on the successful defense of over six products liability trials over her career. Additionally, Ms. Wan has been an active member of the Asian Pacific American Lawyers Associate of New Jersey (APALA-NJ) and is currently serving as Secretary to the APALA-NJ Executive Board. She received her law degree from Brooklyn Law School and her B.S. in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University. At Cornell, she was the recipient of the Cornell Tradition Fellowship Award.  On her spare time, Ms. Wan serves on the New Jersey Supreme Court Committee on Jury Selection in Civil and Criminal Trials. She is an active member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, Bergen County Bar Association, and Monmouth Country Bar Association. She is also the Acting Municipal Chair in Matawan Borough of the Monmouth County Democrats.
